The Story Behind Alien Labs
Ted Lidie grew up in Redding, California, where the career options were firefighter or grower — he chose grower. After moving to San Francisco in 2008, he watched Cookies blow up with branded packaging and realized the future of cannabis was branding, not just bag appeal. He went back to Redding and started Alien Labs in a small 8-light basement grow, hand-selling every harvest. The strain that broke them through was Do-Si-Dos. In 2017, Alien Labs partnered with Connected Cannabis Co. and the two now operate as sister brands under Connected International.
