The Story Behind Gelato 25

The Gelato line traces back to San Francisco in the mid-2010s, when Bay Area breeder Mario Guzman, better known as Mr. Sherbinski, crossed Sunset Sherbet with Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies. That first seed run produced dozens of phenotypes, and rather than naming them all, Guzman simply numbered each one. Friends and local connoisseurs passed samples around by number alone, and before long those numbers became famous across the country. Phenotype 25 earned the nickname “Barry Bonds” for its heavy-hitting potency and ability to knock you out of the park.

While Gelato 41 and Gelato 33 grabbed most of the spotlight, pheno 25 quietly built a following for its distinct vanilla-forward sweetness and berry depth.
