The Story Behind Nishi

Nishi is a Z-on-Z loop. Yellow Zushi is itself a Zkittlez x Kush Mints cross from The TENco’s proprietary Zushi family, so crossing it back into Zkittlez doubles down on the candy-fruit genetics while adding the gassy Kush Mints backbone that made Zushi famous. The TENco built their entire brand around the Zushi line, starting with co-founders Staks (a London cannabis culture pioneer who brought Cookies to Europe in 2014) and Gerry (creative director at Worldstar Hip Hop). Their Blue Zushi won Best Overall Strain and Best Tasting at the 2023 Zalympix.

The name “Nishi” follows The TENco’s Japanese-influenced branding. Malibu Farmerz, a California soil-grown operation, took this cut and grew it their way, letting the terroir and hand-fed approach bring out the terpene expression that Z-family genetics are known for.
