Permanent Marker arrived from Seed Junky Genetics, the same house behind Wedding Cake and Jealousy, and it blew up fast enough to take Leafly’s Strain of the Year in 2023. The hook is right there in the name: cracked open, it genuinely smells like a fresh Sharpie, all sharp solvent and floral funk sitting on a candy base. Breeder JBeezy crossed Biscotti, Sherb Bx1, and Jealousy to get there, and growers have been hunting standout phenos of it ever since.

The 41 is one of those numbered selections. Malibu picked this cut for the gassiest, most candy-forward side of the Permanent Marker line and grew it for terps over yield. If you already love the Marker, Perm 41 is the same DNA dialed toward the louder end.

The Nose

The nose on this cut is loud, and it really does read like permanent marker. Sharp gassy solvent hits first, then a wave of candy and sweet dough rounds it out. There is a bright citrus edge from the Limonene and a soft floral note coming straight off the Linalool. That peppery bite hiding behind everything is the Caryophyllene doing its thing, with Myrcene grounding the whole profile. The nugs are dense and lumpy, pale mint green under a heavy coat of frost.

The Smoke

Smoke it and the gas leads, no surprise, but the candy sweetness catches up quick and softens the edges. The flavour is rounder than the aggressive nose suggests, with the citrus brightening the exhale and a faint floral note on the back end.
