Tiger Moon
Tiger Moon crosses Pluto S1 into Apples and Bananas: sweet, floral fruit on top, Pluto’s gas underneath, and a lift that settles into easy relaxation.
Tiger Moon
Tiger Moon is an indica-leaning hybrid from Compound Genetics, Pluto S1 crossed into Apples and Bananas and grown here in Thailand: sweet, floral fruit over a gassy kush base, and a lift that settles into easy relaxation. The breeder puts the line at 24% to 28% THC, although our lot carries no lab test. Best for the afternoon through the evening.

The Story Behind Tiger Moon
Tiger Moon comes out of Compound Genetics, the California breeding house behind Jet Fuel Gelato and The Menthol, and, together with Cookies, behind Apples and Bananas. That last cut is the mother here and one of the loudest fruit strains of the decade: Platinum Cookies and Granddaddy Purple crossed into Blue Power, then finished with Gelatti, bred for apple and banana candy on top of serious strength. On the other side sits Pluto S1, a selfed line of Pluto. Compound does not spell out which Pluto went in; however, the famous one is the Gelato 33 x Triangle Kush plant that Seed Junky bred and Gashouse selected, a relaxing, appetite-waking indica with a diesel edge.
Read like that, the plan is simple: Apples and Bananas brings the fruit and the head, while Pluto brings the kush weight and the gas. Beyond that, the record is thin, and we would rather say so. The cross came out as a Compound seed release and no longer appears in their current collections, nobody has published a proper smoke report on it, and our jar is a Thai grow with no COA. So what follows leans on what growers who have run this cut describe, and on what the two parents reliably do. If you like the way Compound genetics come out of a Thai grow, Jokerz Candy is another of their cuts grown here.
The Nose
A jar like this does not wait for you to lean in. Sweet comes first, then a floral lift that growers of this cut single out, and right underneath both runs a gassy line that is pure Pluto. Squeeze a nug and you should find the Apples and Bananas side: fruity, with a green apple note and a darker hint of berry, while a touch of pine keeps it from tipping into candy. On paper the terpenes follow the parents: Caryophyllene for the peppery warmth at the back, Limonene brightening the fruit, Myrcene adding earthy weight and Pinene sharpening the finish.
The Smoke
Expect the smoke to follow the nose rather than surprise you. The sweet and floral notes lead the inhale, then the gassy Pluto side takes over on the exhale, and the fruit lingers on the tongue afterwards. As you go, the kush base thickens and the fruit steps back, so the second half of a joint tastes heavier than the first. With Triangle Kush in the family tree, it also pulls denser than the fruit suggests, so take smaller hits if you are passing it around.
The High
Right from the first hits, it is the Apples and Bananas side you feel: euphoric, happy and gently uplifting, with a creative first half hour and a light tingly buzz across the skin. Then the Pluto half arrives from underneath. Growers who have run this cut talk about relaxation and stress relief rather than sleep, and that is the shape to expect: relaxed shoulders, a steady calming hand on the mood, and your head still in the room. Toward the comedown the Pluto family trait shows up and you will likely get hungry, so keep snacks within reach for the back half.

Who Should Try Tiger Moon?
Tiger Moon is a jar for somebody who wants fruit and gas in the same session and an evening that stays sociable. It is not a beginner strain on paper: with Apples and Bananas in the mix, the line runs strong, and the breeder’s figures sit in the mid to high twenties. If you are anxiety-prone, go slow on the first session, because Gelato lines can turn racy when pushed. On the other hand, for stress that sits in the shoulders, a low mood, nagging pain or an appetite that has gone quiet, it makes a sensible late-afternoon pick that leaves the rest of your night intact. In short, open it after work, not before.
