The Story Behind Preferred Gardens

David Polley grew up in Sacramento with hippie parents who cultivated cannabis culture around him. He started growing in closets as a teenager and moved to outdoor cultivation in Yuba County before the medical market even existed. In 2015, he formalized everything into Preferred Gardens after a decade of underground growing. Polley built the entire operation around one principle: breed everything from seed, never buy clones from nurseries. That obsession with proprietary genetics led to a library of over 260 strains, all pheno-hunted in-house.
