Smoken Promises launched in 2025 as a partnership between Connected Cannabis Co. and Broken Promises, the lifestyle brand, and the arrangement is more interesting than most brand collaborations. Broken Promises founders Jason Blake and Mandee Bence do the selecting; the growing sits inside the breeding and cultivation programme Connected and Alien Labs have run for years, with Ted Lidie from Alien Labs and Caleb Counts from Connected involved directly.

It comes off the same programme as the parent brands, and what Broken Promises contribute is the choosing: which cuts match a brand built on how things make you feel rather than on numbers.
