The Story Behind TerpHogz
Green R. Fieldz and Tony Mendocino formed TerpHogz in 2014, and the name is a rap reference before it is a cannabis one: a callback to the chorus of E-40’s Mustard and Mayonnaise. Fieldz had three albums out and tracks with Smoke DZA, Yukmouth and Andre Nickatina before the plants took over. What they built in Mendocino is a collective with something like half a century of combined growing between them.
Around 2015 they worked with 3rd Gen Family on the cross that changed the decade. Zkittlez won everything in reach, Chalice and High Times and the Secret Cup and the Emerald Cup, and then a legal fight with the candy company forced a rename: it is The Original Z now. The fruit-terp era that followed, every Z-cross that other breeders have built on since, comes out of that one plant.

TerpHogz breed for terpenes first and have done since before that was the fashion. The Z line is not a lucky pheno they kept: it is a programme, and its descendants are now the backbone of most candy-forward genetics in circulation.
