Mandarin Cookies V2 is a balanced hybrid (50/50) born from the Ethos Cookies 12 x Mandarin Sunset cross, and what you see here is our Thai grown version of it. The Ethos line built its name on loud mandarin zest sitting over a sweet cookie base, with potency that tends to land in the 22 to 28 percent range. This one leans cheerful and talkative, a true day to night hybrid.

The Story Behind Mandarin Cookies V2

The original Mandarin Cookies came out of Colorado breeder Ethos Genetics, who crossed a Forum Cookies cut with their citrus heavy Mandarin Sunset. It blew up fast for one reason: it actually smelled like fresh mandarin peel, a note most cookie hybrids never get near. The V2 you see here is the reworked line, Ethos Cookies 12 pollinated back onto a Mandarin Sunset R1 male, a hunt aimed at locking in that orange terpene punch with more consistency from seed to seed.

Mandarin Sunset (Herijuana x Orange Skunk) carries the citrus and the heavy backbone, while the Cookies side brings the sweet dough and the euphoric lift. Ethos themselves describe the result as cheerful and powerful, climbing into a relaxed mind and body finish rather than a flat couchlock. What we carry is a Thai grown phenotype of that genetic, so we keep the sensory notes honest and let the plant speak for itself.

The Nose

You smell the orange before anything else. Crack a jar and it is straight citrus, more candied mandarin and orange peel than lemon, with that bright lift coming from the Limonene. Underneath sits a low gassy funk, almost like hash, that peppery edge in the back is the Caryophyllene doing its thing. Sit with it a second longer and the sweet cookie dough rounds everything off, propped up by a soft Myrcene and Humulene base. The nugs run a medium green with plenty of orange hairs, fitting for a strain named after the fruit.

The Smoke

The smoke carries the nose over almost intact. Citrus hits first on the inhale, clean and zesty, then that gassy funk creeps in on the exhale and keeps it from tasting like a candle. The finish is where the cookie shows up, a sweet doughy tail that lingers on the lips. It pulls fairly smooth for a Thai grow, nothing harsh, and the flavour holds up better than most citrus strains that fade after the first few pulls.

The High

It opens up top. Within a few minutes you feel euphoric and plainly happy, the kind of lift that gets you chatty and a little creative if you have something to work on. That uplifting head stays clear rather than racy. As it settles, a gentle tingly wave moves into the body and turns relaxed and calming, but it never glues you down.
