The Story Behind Zoap

Zoap came out of Deep East Oakland. The breeder behind it, DEO Farms, started the project in 2015 by popping 100 Rainbow Sherbet seeds and growing every single one. Female number 16 stood out for its aroma and vigour. That plant was crossed with a strong Rainbow Sherbet male, and from the resulting hundred seeds, phenotype number 21 became Zoap. That level of selection is rare in modern cannabis breeding, where most drops come from far fewer seeds.

The name plays on the soapy, clean quality of the terpene profile. Zoap is a clone-only strain, meaning you cannot buy seeds. Access comes through DEO’s limited Clone Drops, which sell out within minutes. The scarcity helped build the legend, but the flower delivers regardless of the hype. The Pink Guava parent contributes OG Kush depth through its OZ Kush heritage, while Rainbow Sherbet brings the candy and cream from its GSC and Pink Panties lineage. It won the Zalympix alongside Wizard Trees, further cementing its status.

The Nose

Bright and clean the moment you open the container. Floral sweetness hits first, almost perfume-like, followed by a rush of sweet candy that smells like a bag of fruit gummies. Then the citrus lifts everything, sharp and zesty. There is a soapy, almost laundry-fresh quality underneath that gives Zoap its name. Limonene drives the citrus brightness, Caryophyllene adds subtle warmth, and Linalool rounds it out with lavender softness. The buds are medium-dense with bright green colouring, vibrant orange hairs, and a frosty trichome layer that sparkles under light.

The Smoke

Light and airy on the inhale, the floral and sweet notes translate directly from the nose. The candy flavour is more pronounced on the palate, with the citrus arriving on the exhale as a clean, zesty finish. This is not a heavy smoke.
