The Story Behind Pink Certz

Pink Certz comes from Compound Genetics, a California breeding house known for building complex flavour-forward crosses. The idea was simple: take The Menthol, a Gelato 45 descendant with Jet Fuel and White Diesel in its blood, and cross it with Grape Gasoline, a purple-tinted gas bomb bred from Grape Pie and Jet Fuel Gelato. Both parents lean heavy on fuel terpenes, but they express it differently. The Menthol brings a eucalyptus-like lift. Grape Gasoline brings sticky, purple-hued berry soda aromatics.

The cross landed in 2021 and quickly earned attention. A Pink Certz entry from Sense SF won the Transbay Challenge in San Francisco in 2022, putting the strain on the map for competition-grade quality. What Compound Genetics achieved here is a rare balance: menthol coolness layered over sweet grape, with enough gas underneath to remind you this is still a Gelato-line cross.

The Nose
