The Story Behind White Taffi

White Taffi has one of the best origin stories in modern cannabis, and it starts with an accident. In 2022, Doja Exclusive’s Rusty (“the Duke of Erb”) took a male of his Afternoon Pineapple and pollinated a Gelato 41 cut from Alien Labs. The resulting hybrid, internally called P41, was phenohunted with Dave from Preferred Gardens. Everything looked good, and clones were sent to contracted grows across Sacramento, Florida, Arizona, and affiliates in New York and Oklahoma City.

Then the test batches came back wrong. The plants didn’t match P41 at all. The team traced the mix-up to a grower in Grass Valley, California, who had provided a cut labeled “Zoap” that clearly wasn’t Zoap. Dave had kept the unknown clone because it was interesting, and somewhere along the way, it got shipped out in place of the real thing. Rather than trash the mystery plant, they sampled it and found something exceptional: creamy menthol with gassy, nutty white chocolate and tropical fruit. The name White Taffi is a nod to Airheads candy’s “White Mystery” flavour, the one that never reveals what it is. Blueprint Cannabis carries this cut through their Arizona operation, and at 25-35% THC, the mystery genetics clearly brought the heat.

The Nose

There’s nothing else that smells like this. The creamy note leads, thick and almost dairy-like, closer to melted vanilla ice cream than anything botanical. Right behind it, a sharp minty coolness opens up the sinuses, and then the gas comes through, heavy and pungent, grounding everything. Caryophyllene drives that warm, spicy depth underneath the cream, while Limonene adds a bright tropical sweetness that surfaces when you grind the bud. Myrcene fills in the earthy base.
