The Story Behind Sherb x Zangria

This is a dessert cross with serious pedigree on both sides. Sunset Sherbert is one of the most important strains of the last decade, bred by Mario Guzman, better known as Mr Sherbinski, out in the Sunset district of San Francisco. He crossed a Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies female with a Pink Panties male and ended up with the strain that would later parent Gelato and reshape the whole dessert category. So the Sherb side carries that creamy, fruity Cookies backbone that everyone has been chasing ever since.

Zangria is the newer half. It surfaced in spring 2025 as a clone made famous by Fiya Farmer, crossing Zkittlez with Thin Mint Cookies, and named after sangria for its jammy, fruit-punch sweetness. Putting the two together stacks Cookies genetics on Cookies genetics, with Zkittlez candy and Sherbert citrus pulling the flavour in different fruity directions. We have not seen the exact pheno-selection story for this particular cross documented anywhere, so we are keeping the read modest and letting the parents speak. This cut comes from Malibu, who tend to chase the loud, candy-leaning expressions of strains like this one.

The Nose

Crack the seal and it hits you right away: cherry soda, bright and jammy, the Zangria side announcing itself first. Underneath sits a thick sweet candy layer that reads pure Cookies-and-Zkittlez lineage. Break a nug and the profile opens up: a tart berry edge, a squeeze of citrus from the Sherbert half, and a faint tropical pineapple note hiding in the back. That zesty lift up top is the Limonene talking, while a quiet peppery warmth from Caryophyllene keeps the sweetness from going flat. The nugs run dense and chunky, deep green with a sticky, sugar-dusted coat that clings to the grinder.

The Smoke

The draw is rounder than the nose suggests. Cherry and candy lead on the inhale, soft and full across the palate, then the berry tartness sharpens things up on the way out. Citrus threads through the middle of each pull, keeping it from getting cloying. As the joint burns down, the Myrcene shows up as a heavier, almost ripe-fruit weight on the exhale, a hint of where the high is about to take you. The smoke sits thick and a little syrupy, the kind that lingers on the lips between hits.

The High

It opens up top. A bright happy lift lands first, lightly euphoric, the mood-boost you would expect from a Cookies-heavy cross. That head buzz never gets racy though. Within ten minutes or so a tingly warmth starts creeping into the limbs, and the calming side takes over as the indica genetics assert themselves.
