The Story Behind Bacio Gelato

You may know this one by its number. Bacio Gelato is Gelato 41, the phenotype Mario Guzman cherry-picked out of the Sherbinskis Gelato project for maximum resin and terpene output, and bacio is simply the Italian word for kiss. The Gelato line runs on Italian dessert names the way the Cookies line runs on numbers, and 41 is the one the growers kept.

The parents explain the profile completely. Sunset Sherbet came out of a happy accident in 2014 when Guzman crossed Pink Panties with GSC, and it carries the creamy fruit. Thin Mint is the peppermint-leaning phenotype of GSC, itself Durban Poison over OG Kush, and it brings the cold mint edge plus the OG weight underneath. Put them together and the fuel that neither parent leads with becomes the loudest thing in the jar. Ours is a Thai grow of that cut.

The Nose

Fuel. That is the headline, and it makes no attempt to hide. The gas comes off this one the moment the lid moves, sharp and solvent-like, and it takes a second before anything else registers. When it does, it is cream: thick, vanilla-adjacent, the Sunset Sherbet half insisting on being noticed.

Underneath there is dark berry and a bright citrus lift, and right at the end a cold mint note that comes straight down the Thin Mint line. Buds are dense and dark with purple running through the bracts and a trichome coat heavy enough to look wet. Caryophyllene dominates, which is exactly why the gas reads as loud as it does, backed by Limonene, Myrcene and a little Linalool over a dry earthy base.

The Smoke

Thick, oily smoke that coats everything and leaves a ring in the joint. The gas hits the palate before the sweetness does, then the cream arrives and softens it, and the mint turns up last as a cool finish rather than a flavour. It expands hard in the chest, so a big pull will find you out. Finally, the aftertaste is almost entirely sweet, which is a strange and very good place to end up after an inhale that tasted like a petrol station.

The High

The head goes first and it goes fast. A bright Euphoric rush arrives almost immediately, Happy and Creative ride along with it, and for roughly twenty minutes this behaves like a much lighter strain. Uplifting is a fair description of that window. Enjoy it, because it is short.

Then the body arrives all at once. Not gradually, all at once: Relaxed turns into a full Body High and then into properly Heavy, and whatever you were planning for the evening is now negotiable. This is a 5 out of 5 on our intensity scale, the only one on the shelf, and the number is honest.

Who Should Try Bacio Gelato?
