Tricho Jordan Piatella by Madlabs
Tricho Jordan Piatella by Madlabs is an indica-leaning hybrid (30/70) born from Chimera 2 x Chimera 3, washed and then cured flat. As flower it sits at 20-26% THC, and after the cure its butterscotch cream and late gas come in one soft, glossy slab, with a balanced high that keeps your head in the room. Best for day / night.

The Story Behind Tricho Jordan
Tricho Jordan comes from Beleaf Cannabis, the breeder behind the Chimera line, and its own listing gives it a second name that says exactly what it is: Chimera R2. Two selections of Chimera, number 2 and number 3, were crossed back together, so both parents come out of the same family. Chimera itself is Beleaf’s cross of White Truffle and The Creature, and White Truffle is a selected Gorilla Butter phenotype, which puts Gorilla Glue 4 and Peanut Butter Breath further back in the tree. The breeder is not modest about the result (“magic, absolutely magic”) and names the two notes that run through the family: butterscotch and port wine. Some phenotypes, by the same account, lean back toward White Truffle and pick up a gassy, garlicky edge. A 2024 review of Chimera 2 in Leaf Magazine found the same thread, a hearty wine aroma over a savoury, salted butter core.
Madlabs has no public write-up of its process, so how long this particular slab cured is not documented. The style itself is well described. Piatella was first made at Uncle’s Farm, a cannabis social club in Barcelona, and the name comes from the Italian piatto, flat. It starts as full melt ice water hash, usually washed from fresh frozen flower, which is dried cold, spread out flat, sealed with as little air as possible and then left somewhere cool for weeks. There is no heat and no rosin press involved; time does the work. What comes out is no longer the loose, sandy powder of a fresh frozen wash but a single dense slab, glossy on the surface, that slices like butter left out of the fridge.
The Nose
A piatella keeps its smell to itself until you open it up, which is much of the point of curing it sealed. With the air kept out, the volatile top end has little chance to fade, so the aroma tends to stay packed in the slab and comes up when you break a piece away. The sweet side arrives first, closer to butterscotch than to candy, folded into a thick creamy layer. Then comes vanilla, and after it a darker fruity note that fits the port wine the breeder describes. As the piece warms between your fingers, a gassy streak and a dry earthy floor come through. Under the sweetness sits a warm pepper from the Caryophyllene; meanwhile the finish has a dry, woody grip, the Humulene at work, with just enough Limonene to keep a bright edge on it. Colour is worth a glance too. Good piatella sits between gold and light amber, and a surface darker than the inside only means that part met some air.
The Smoke
The handling is the first difference you notice. A piece the size of a grain of rice comes away cleanly and holds its shape, so there is no sand to chase around the tool. Low and slow suits it best. On a cool dab the opening taste is cream and butterscotch, round and heavy on the tongue, with vanilla underneath, while the gassy note waits for the end of the pull and stays in the background. Then the exhale turns drier, the earthy base and a little pepper taking over from the sweet top, and the fruity, port-like note shows last. Good piatella should melt away completely and leave nothing on the quartz. Rolled in a thin strip through a joint or laid over a bowl it works too, but heat is the enemy here: push it hot and the dessert half goes first, so keep the temperature down and let the cure show.
The High
The mood moves before anything else. A euphoric lift comes first, and it turns giggly fast, the kind of laugh that starts over nothing and spreads around the table. Meanwhile the head stays usable: loose enough to be creative, clear enough to stay focused on one thing at a time. After that the body joins in, a relaxed ease through the back and legs and a soft body high that sits underneath rather than on top. Dose decides the rest. A small piece stays light on its feet; a large one can tip over into couch territory. With piatella this soft, the size of the pinch is your volume control.

Who Should Try Tricho Jordan Piatella by Madlabs?
Hash smokers who care about taste and texture as much as strength. Piatella suits a slower, more deliberate session, portioned from a soft slab instead of scooped from a jar of sand, and the dessert side of this cut, butterscotch and cream with the gas held back, rewards that pace. If you already know the fresh frozen version, the two make an interesting comparison: the same cut, left as a wash in one jar and cured into a slab in the other. It is still a concentrate made from a 20-26% flower, and the anxiety risk sits at medium, so if your head tends to race, take a smaller piece than you think you need and wait ten minutes before any more. Used that way, the profile fits people who reach for cannabis to ease stress, lift a low mood or get through an afternoon slump.
