Banana Hammock
Banana Hammock is an indica-leaning hybrid (35/65) born from Grape God x Mandarin Sunset. Coming in at 22-27% THC, this Thai-grown cut trades the banana its name promises for ripe grape, honey and tropical citrus, then swings you into a slow, heavy body calm. Best for night.
Thai Weed grown in Thailand.
The Story Behind Banana Hammock
Banana Hammock comes from Ethos Genetics in Colorado, and the full name on the seed packet is Banana Hammock R1, the R marking a first-round pheno selection. The cross pairs Grape God, a grape-and-honey heavyweight built on God Bud lineage, with Mandarin Sunset, the orange-skunk parent Ethos has leaned on across its citrus line. Neither side is a banana strain, which explains the running joke among growers: the name promises banana, the jar delivers ripe grape and honey instead.
What the cross does deliver, reliably, is resin. Ethos bred it for dense, violet-shadowed flowers that finish quickly and frost hard, and hash makers picked up on it early for exactly that reason. On top of that, this particular run was grown in Thailand, where the island heat pushes those sticky genetics even further, so expect a greasy grip the moment you break a nug.
The Nose
Forget the banana. The jar opens on grape, deep and jammy, layered with a sweet honey drizzle that sits somewhere between candy and dessert wine. Give it a moment and a tropical warmth rises through, brightened by a squeeze of citrus from the Mandarin Sunset side. Grind it and the base turns earthy and musky, that ripe-fruit depth being the Myrcene talking, while Limonene keeps the top end zesty, Caryophyllene adds a peppery bite at the back, and a trace of Pinene cools the finish. The nugs come down dense and dark, olive green with violet shadows under a thick dusting of trichomes.
The Smoke
The smoke lands thicker than the sweet nose suggests. Grape and honey carry the inhale, syrupy enough to read as a dessert pull, then the exhale dries into earthy spice with a last flicker of citrus peel. It burns slow and oily in a joint, and it stays smooth as long as you pace it. Rush the session, though, and this one quickly reminds you who is in charge.
The High
Banana Hammock is a certified creeper, so the first ten minutes feel deceptively polite. A warm euphoric lift arrives first, brightening the mood while a tingly current starts tracing down the neck and shoulders. Then the Grape God side rolls in: a deep body high spreads through the limbs, calming everything it touches, and what began as a gentle lean turns properly heavy. By the second hour you are relaxed to the bone, hungry enough to raid the fridge, and pinned wherever you chose to sit. It is long lasting too, the kind of ride where the sunset happens and then somehow it is midnight. Right about then the name stops being a joke: you are the banana, and whatever you are lying on is the hammock.

Who Should Try Banana Hammock?
Reach for this one when the day is done and the only plan left is the sofa. At 22-27% THC it carries real weight, yet the ride stays smooth and low-stress, so it rarely turns racy as long as you respect the creeper timing: give every session ten minutes before you judge it. If stress, nagging pain or insomnia keep you wired at night, Banana Hammock is built for exactly that shift, and the second half of the ride slides naturally toward bedtime. Newer smokers can enjoy it too, just start with less than you think you need and keep snacks within arm’s reach.
