The Story Behind Black Zushi x 424

Black Zushi started as an accident. A customer found a seed in a pack of Blue Zushi and sent it back to The Tenco. When Staks and Gerry grew it out in Los Angeles, the result was darker, louder, and far heavier than the original. They kept the cut and named it Black Zushi.

The parent genetics are the same Zkittlez x Kush Mints 11 cross behind all of TenCo’s Zushi line. Staks, a UK-born cultivator, built TenCo around terpene-forward California genetics, and the Zushi family became their flagship. Blue Zushi brought fruity sweetness and social energy. Black Zushi pushed the other way: deeper earth, thicker sedation, a nighttime-only experience. The “x 424” tag marks a collaboration with the LA streetwear label known for its minimalist aesthetic and red armband logo. The packaging gets the 424 treatment, but the genetics inside are pure Black Zushi.

The Nose

This one fills the room before you even break a nug. A rush of sweet candy hits first, bright and sugary, almost like a bag of sour belts. Then the mint creeps in, cool and clean, lifted by Linalool and a citrus edge from the Limonene. Crack a nug open and the gassy backbone hits, peppery and sharp from the Caryophyllene, grounded by Myrcene earth underneath. There’s a warm butterscotch note hiding in the back, richer and darker than the candy top notes would suggest. The buds run deep purple at the tips with bright orange pistils, coated in a thick sticky frost.

The Smoke
