The Story Behind Soufflé

Soufflé comes from Grandiflora Genetics, the Oakland luxury cannabis brand founded by Mark McCafferty in 2008. Grandiflora made waves in 2018 when Cookies founder Berner noticed their work, and the two brands formed a partnership that produced some of the most sought-after genetics in California. E85 was one of the crown jewels of that collaboration, a mysterious strain with debated genetics (commonly listed as Wedding Cake x Project 4516 or Super Lemon Cherry Gelato x Runtz) that quickly earned a reputation for potency and exclusivity. Clones of E85 alone could fetch serious money.

For Soufflé, Grandiflora crossed E85 with MGM (Melonatta x Platinum Puff), another in-house creation. The goal was to combine E85’s fuel-forward intensity with MGM’s dessert-like sweetness and creamy body. The result is a strain that rises like its namesake: airy and light at first, then rich and dense as you go deeper. The name isn’t just marketing. The flavour profile genuinely evokes baked goods and warm kitchens.

The Nose

Rich sweet bakery aroma rolls out the moment you crack a nug. Warm dessert notes dominate, buttery pastry with a brown sugar edge that feels more like a patisserie than a dispensary. Citrus brightness cuts through the sweetness, a sharp lemon zest quality courtesy of the Limonene.
