The Story Behind Cap Junky

Cap Junky is a collaboration between Capulator and Seed Junky Genetics, two breeders who put their names on very little. Capulator took his closely held Alien Cookies and crossed it with Seed Junky’s Kush Mints, and the result turned into one of the loudest and frostiest cuts of the modern exotic era. Its reputation was built on absurd trichome coverage and a menthol-gas nose sharp enough to clear a room.

Growers like that are why hash makers fight over material. Cap Junky washes heavy, and Madlabs took it fresh frozen: straight into the freezer at harvest, ice-water washed while the resin heads are still intact, then dried without any cure. Menthol is one of the most fragile things in a terpene profile, the first note to disappear when hash is worked or aged, which is precisely why this format matters here. Alongside it the Piatella takes the same wash and cold-cures it into a darker, gassier slab. Same plant, two very different readings of it.

The Nose

Open the jar carefully. Mint comes off it cold and almost medicinal, the Kush Mints half announcing itself before anything else registers, and the uncured wash keeps that note far icier than a cured slab does. Beneath it sits the gas, thick and solvent-sharp, with a sugary sweet cookie thread from the Alien Cookies side taking the hard edges off. A dark earthy floor holds the whole arrangement down. The peppery heat woven through the gas is Caryophyllene, a citrus flicker comes off the Limonene, and the soft floral edge underneath belongs to Linalool. In the jar it is light blonde and granular, closer to sand than to putty.

The Smoke

Go small and go cool. The mint lands first and it lands cold, a genuine menthol chill across the palate that makes the inhale feel wider than it is. The gas follows on the exhale, heavy and coating, and the sweet cookie note trails behind to stop it turning acrid. Fresh frozen melts fast and burns clean, so the flavour front-loads: the first pull is the loudest one you will get, then the earthy base takes over as the terps run down. The High

There is no delay to speak of. A euphoric surge shows up almost immediately, bright and slightly unsteady at this potency, and then the weight arrives.
