The Story Behind Blue Pill

Half of this cross we can document properly and half of it we cannot, so here is the honest version. Blue Pill is an OTF house cross of Blue Lychee over Nectar Fusion. Blue Lychee is itself an OTF plant, PapayaDawg crossed with Compound Genetics’ Pinata, and that side is traceable. Nectar Fusion is an undocumented in-house cut with nothing published about it anywhere, which means the description below leans on the Blue Lychee half and on what the press actually smells and behaves like.

We would rather say that than pad the page with a lineage nobody can verify. OTF are a French team, the solventless label of French Flair, pressing limited runs in Thailand, and this is one of their own selections rather than a bought-in cut. That does mean the profile is a genuine unknown quantity on one side, and it also means you are not going to find this rosin anywhere else.

The Nose

Softer than the OTF fruit presses and heavier underneath. The first read is plain sweet, thick and syrupy, and it takes a moment before the fruit resolves into anything specific. When it does it is tropical and generally fruity rather than one identifiable thing, with a sugary candy layer sitting over the top.

The base is where it differs from its siblings. There is a real gas weight down there, not a suggestion of one, and it is closer to solvent than to diesel. Caryophyllene dominates and explains that entirely, with Limonene and Myrcene filling in behind. The rosin runs darker and more buttery than the lemon-forward presses on the menu.

The Dab

Keep the temperature down and the candy survives; take it hot and all you get is the gas, which is a waste of what makes this one distinctive. Warm, the sweetness coats everything and lingers well past the exhale, and there is a faint sourness at the very end that reads as the Blue Lychee side showing through. Meanwhile the smoke is thick and it expands, so small doses are not just prudent, they are more pleasant.

The High

The opening is brief and cheerful. Euphoric and Giggly turn up quickly, and for a few minutes it behaves like a lighter press than it is. Do not build plans on that stretch, because it is the shortest part of the experience by a distance.

What follows is all body. Body High arrives and deepens into Relaxed and then genuinely Heavy, with Calming flattening out whatever was going on in your head. Hungry shows up somewhere in the middle and is worth preparing for. As a result this is an evening dab, full stop.
