Pink Drip Donut
The Pink Drip Donut is two grams of Pink Drip rolled in the shop around a core of Gelato 22 rosin, half a gram of it. Vanilla cream on the nose, a slow and even burn, and a landing that belongs at the very end of the day.

Why Pink Drip Gets the Rosin
Pink Drip crosses Uncle John’s Skunk with Animal Mints BX1, the Seed Junky Genetics backcross of Wedding Cake and Animal Mints, and it shows both sides: a gassy backbone from the old skunk line, then the cream and mint the Animal Mints family is known for. Who first put the two together has never been clearly documented. The strain is best known from British Columbia, where it was released as an organic craft flower, and it runs high, 26 to 32% THC on the figures we work from. In short, it is a night strain before anything is added to it.
So the real question was what to put in the middle of it. We also roll Pink Drip with fresh frozen hash, and that version is built on contrast. The donut goes the other way. Gelato 22 comes out of the Gelato family, the Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies cross whose numbered cuts, Gelato 33 above all, set the dessert trend. Little has been written about the 22 selection itself, but it carries the family’s sweet citrus and berry cream. Next to Pink Drip’s vanilla, the two flavours stack instead of fighting, which is exactly what you want from a joint built to burn slowly.
Then there is the format. In a donut the rosin is not mixed through the flower or painted on the outside: it runs as a rope down the centre of the joint, with the flower packed around it. As the joint burns, the rosin melts just ahead of the cherry and leaves a hollow ring of ash at the tip, which is where the name comes from. The result burns slow and even, and that is the whole point.
The Nose
Unlit, it smells like a milkshake. Pink Drip brings creamy vanilla over soft berry, with a cool streak of mint from the Animal Mints parent and a faint gassy edge underneath that keeps it from tipping into candy. At this stage the flower does most of the talking. Once it is going, the Gelato 22 lays a brighter citrus sweetness over the top, which is the Limonene at work, while the soft floral note at the back comes from the Linalool.
The Smoke
The first third is mostly flower, sweet and creamy and easy going. Once the cherry reaches the rosin, though, the smoke turns thicker and oilier, and it opens up in the chest more than the first few pulls suggest, so keep them short. Because the rosin sits in the core, the joint burns slow and even, and one lasts a long time. Meanwhile the flavour holds steady: the vanilla stays on the tongue to the end, and in the last third a warm, peppery finish comes through from the Caryophyllene. In other words, this is a joint for two or three people, not one.
The High
It starts in the head. The Gelato 22 gives the opening minutes a soft, euphoric glow, happy and a little chatty, and people tend to think they have the measure of it. Then Pink Drip takes over. A warm body high settles across the shoulders and down the back, you get properly relaxed, and by the time the joint is finished the whole experience has turned heavy. Sleep tends to follow, and not long after. Light this one already in the place you plan to fall asleep.

Who Should Try the Pink Drip Donut?
Experienced smokers who want the last joint of the night to be the last thing they do. If you already know Pink Drip by the gram, think of the Pink Drip Donut as that same heavy flower with half a gram of rosin in the middle, and pace it accordingly. People who smoke to switch off stress or to get to sleep are the ones who tend to come back for it. If you would rather keep some brightness in the mix, the Pink Drip Infused Pre-Roll is the louder sibling, with fresh frozen hash instead of rosin. Anyone prone to anxiety should keep the first pulls small, and nobody should drive afterwards.
