The Granita strain is an indica-leaning hybrid (40/60) from Perfect Tree, a double dose of Gelato 33 built from 33 Splitter x Jet A. At 20 to 27% THC it is gelato on steroids: pungent gas wrapped in creamy vanilla, then a brain-freezing body high that locks you to the couch. Very much a night-only pick. The Granita Strain Story

Granita is Perfect Tree’s love letter to Gelato 33. The seed bank built it by crossing two of their own selections, both running on the famous Gelato 33 breeder’s cut: 33 Splitter, a Gelato 33 x Atom Splitter mother pulled from Uprising Seeds stock, and Jet A, an Exotic Genetix cross of Gelato 33 and Tina. Stacking Gelato 33 on both sides of the family tree is the entire point of the project. What comes out is a rich, dessert-gas terpene profile that growers only half-jokingly call Gelato on steroids, on monster colas that frost over from top to bottom and can turn deep purple late in flower.

The pedigree has hardware behind it too: Granita took second place in the indica category at the 2022 Gorilla Verse Cup in Spain. That double Gelato lineage is exactly what comes through in the Granita strain we press, loud and creamy and heavy.

The Nose

Granita smells like an expensive dessert that someone spiked with fuel. The lead note is loud gas, sharp and pungent, cut almost immediately by a creamy vanilla sweetness that is pure Gelato. Behind it, a bright citrus lift and a clean pine edge push through, sitting on a dry earthy, sweet base. That heavy, couch-pulling weight is the Myrcene leading the profile, with Caryophyllene adding pepper, Limonene brightening the citrus, and Linalool laying down a soft floral note underneath.

The High

For a strain with this much Gelato in it, Granita hits harder than the flavour lets on. There is a brief euphoric, happy lift up front, sometimes with a flicker of creative energy, and then the indica weight drops. You go relaxed, then calming, then into a genuinely heavy body high that earns its brain-freezing reputation and glues you to the couch for hours. It fades slow rather than fast. Anxiety risk is low so it stays comfortable start to finish, but make no mistake: this is a nighttime strain for when the plan is to do nothing and then fall asleep.
