Sour Rado
Sour Rado Strain
The Sour Rado strain is a balanced hybrid (50/50) from Karma Genetics, built on Karmarado OG x Sour Diesel BX3. At 28 to 31% THC it is a proper gas bomb, but here is the twist most people miss: despite the Sour name, this is a nighttime wind-down, not a daytime sativa. Loud diesel and lemon going in, long and heavy coming out. Jump to where to find Sour Rado at How High.
The Sour Rado Strain Story
Sour Rado comes from Karma Genetics, the Dutch breeder who has spent two decades earning a name as one of the most honest and most obsessive stewards of the Sour Diesel line. Karma has been in the scene since the late 1990s and turned pro in 2008 after a cup win in Amsterdam, and Sour is the family he is best known for. For this cross he took Karmarado OG, his collaboration cut built on Triangle Kush, SFV OG, and White OG, and paired it with a Sour Diesel BX3 male, then selected the phenotype growers call the Mtown cut.
What came out is a gas-forward Sour OG with light green, chunky buds and a nose that fills a room. The catch is in the effect: the sativa associations that usually ride along with a Sour name do not really apply here. The Sour Rado strain runs long and lands heavy, which is why the breeder and the grow forums alike file it under nighttime smoke rather than wake-and-bake.
The Nose
The batch leads with gas, a sharp sour-diesel funk that announces itself the second you open it. Chasing it is a bright lemon and citrus zip, tart and rind-like, with a sour candy edge that gives the strain its name. Under all of it sits a dry earthy base with faint herbal and woody notes that keep it grounded. That peppery weight behind the diesel is the Caryophyllene, while Limonene drives the lemon-citrus brightness and Myrcene lays down the heavy, herbal undertone that hints at where the high is headed.
The High
Sour Rado opens brighter than its bedtime billing suggests. The first wave is happy and uplifting, a genuinely cheerful head-lift that has more than one grower reaching for the sativa label. Give it fifteen minutes, though, and the Sour OG weight arrives: a calming, deeply relaxed body high that keeps building into a long lasting couch pull, usually with the hungry switch flipped somewhere along the way. At 28 to 31% THC it is potent and the anxiety risk sits in the medium range, so newer or anxiety-prone smokers should keep the dose modest. This is the rare Sour that ends the night instead of starting the day.
