Zelly by Maison O Caçapo is the house’s own Toad Venom pick: sweet minty dough as the tin opens, sharp lime and fuel once broken, then a heavy body high.

Zelly by Maison O Caçapo

Zelly by Maison O Caçapo is an indica-leaning hybrid (30/70), the house’s own pheno of Toad Venom (Animal Face x Sin Mintz). At an estimated 25-29% THC, this cut by Maison O Caçapo opens on sweet minty dough, turns to sharp lime and fuel once you break it, and finishes in a heavy, stoned body high. Best for night.

The Story Behind Zelly

Zelly starts with Toad Venom, and Toad Venom starts with a hunt. Ronin Seeds made Sin Mintz from Sin City Seeds’ Sin Mint Cookies and Zkittlez, then crossed it with Seed Junky’s Animal Face. Green Dragon popped thirty of those seeds and kept a single plant, first named Becky, which Ronin renamed Toad Venom and marketed worldwide. Green Dragon picked her for a pungent, minty, cookie, lime taffy, chemical-fume taste. By 2026 Toad Venom cuts were winning awards, one Michigan grower’s taking both best overall and heaviest hitting at that state’s Zalympix.

Zelly is not that clone. Maison O Caçapo, the small-batch house behind our White Zoyard and Zushi Noire, ran a Toad Venom hunt of its own. By the house’s account, dozens of phenotypes were grown, cured and judged before one stood apart, and that keeper became Zelly. Which seed stock they popped has not been published, and the hunt is their word rather than a breeder record, so we treat Zelly as a Toad Venom selection with the family’s profile. The tin itself is dressed in python print and gold type, signed “Herbe de Luxe, Paris Fornia”. One thing worth clearing up while we are at it. The house did place at the 2026 California Zalympix, second for Best Tasting and third Best Overall, but with its Black Zushi, the cut inside that Zushi Noire tin, and not with Zelly.

The Nose

Lift the lid and a heavy, sweet wave of minty dough rolls out, more bakery than candy store: the raw-cookie dessert smell of the Sin Mintz side, with a cold mint streak running through it. Break a bud and the whole thing flips. Loud citrus takes over, a sharp, chemical lime, and behind it come grease and fuel, a properly gassy, funky edge from the Animal Face side of the family. The house sums the jar up as earthy musk under a sharp citrus lift, and that earthy musk is the floor everything else stands on. The peppery bite inside the fuel is Caryophyllene territory, the lime belongs to Limonene, and the musky weight underneath points to Myrcene. The house also lists Pinene, though no lab panel backs any of the four.

The Smoke

The house calls the smoke smooth and thick, and says the flavour changes completely between the dry pull and the last exhale. On the palate it follows the family closely: minty cookie dough, lime taffy and chemical fumes, much as Green Dragon described the original Toad Venom. A creamy softness from the dough sits under the lime and the fuel. Reviewers of other Toad Venom cuts also pick up cream, a little tropical fruit and plenty of sugar, so the sweet side holds its own, while the gassy funk is never far away.

The High

The opening is quick and bright: a euphoric rush with an uplifting, creative spark that makes the first stretch feel social and loose. It does not stay up there long. A relaxed warmth spreads out from the shoulders, a calming weight follows, and then the body high deepens into something properly heavy and stoned. The house describes a euphoric lift into deep body relaxation and calm focus. Toad Venom smokers, meanwhile, split between a light, creative buzz and a full-body stone, and on a full session the heavier reading wins, though one reviewer drew the line at “not a KO”. Line up the evening before you light it, because once the body side arrives, it makes the plans.

Who Should Try Zelly by Maison O Caçapo?

Zelly by Maison O Caçapo is a late-night jar for experienced smokers who like their dessert with a chemical edge. At an estimated 25-29% THC, from a family known for hitting hard, it deserves respect: one pull, ten minutes, then decide. Anxiety risk sits at medium, since some Toad Venom smokers report a paranoid moment on the way up, so keep the first session calm and the company familiar. Once it settles, this is the kind of heavy body high people turn to for chronic pain, muscle spasms, stress and low mood, and its weight makes it a fair pick when insomnia keeps you up. If you already know Toad Venom from IYKYK or Karma Cartel, you will recognise the dough, the lime and the fuel, here as one house’s own pick of the litter.
